As an artist, I am inspired by the idea of finding beauty in the seemingly mundane aspects of our everyday lives. When we create, we cultivate a connection between mind, heart, and hand. In this connection I find purpose, enjoyment, and opportunities to be present.
I gravitate towards simplicity when creating and use “mistakes” as a opportunity to explore new shapes, designs and textures. Creating is a space where I work to become more patient and process oriented.
My work is messy and organic, soothing and simple, comforting and quiet. It is both beautiful and inherently functional. I intend for it to add quality to everyday life and to evoke conscious reflection of why we are here and what we love. As a creative I believe that our daily lives are worth curating, and that we can do so simply and with intention. What we surround ourselves with and the things that we find beautiful are windows into our lives and should be chosen with care. My work is an encouragement to foster appreciation of beauty in all forms, whether its enjoying a meal with friends or a warm cup of coffee on a cold morning.
